The HD Electric DVI-100T Digital Voltage Indicator with Capacitive Test Point Mode is available as a part of a range of kits. Standard versions with a 60Hz operating frequency are available as are 50Hz versions; please see the ‘What’s Included?’ section for further details.
Like its sister product, the HD Electric DVI-100 Digital Voltage Indicator, the HD Electric DVI-100T Digital Voltage Indicator can measure voltages between 0.1kV and 99kV line-to-ground on overhead and underground (underground bushing probe required) systems. Similarly, it is also able to measure voltages on transmission systems up to 161kV; this instrument differs in that it is able to indicate voltages at elbow test points when used with the included HD Electric IEP-DVI-5 Underground Bushing Probe, unlike its sister product. This is due to the inclusion of a Capacitive Test Point mode.
To facilitate measurements on overhead and underground systems, the HD Electric DVI-100T Digital Voltage Indicator is equipped with a universal spline for the attachment of standard hotsticks and is supplied with an HD Electric HP-DVI-2 Overhead Hook Probe and an HD Electric IEP-DVI-5 Underground Bushing Probe.
Additionally, the HD Electric DVI-100T Digital Voltage Indicator’s large, 2.25” LED display with a two-digit readout has been designed to ensure that it remains easy-to-read even when the HD Electric DVI-100T Digital Voltage Indicator is attached to a long hotstick. The display is also easy to read in dark and bright environments; this coupled with the HD Electric DVI-100T Digital Voltage Indicator’s compact, rugged, lightweight polycarbonate housing makes it suitable for use in challenging outdoor environments.
As the HD Electric DVI-100T Digital Voltage Indicator is auto-ranging it does not include any settings or a range selector switch: the user needs only connect the unit to the conductor and read the voltages via the display. Using the voltage readout, he/she can determine whether the detected potential difference is nominal or induced. Additionally, the HD Electric DVI-100T Digital Voltage Indicator will issue an audible alert when a voltage of 100V AC or above is detected.
To ensure proper operation, the HD Electric DVI-100T Digital Voltage Indicator is equipped with an integrated self-test; it also includes an Auto Shutoff function designed to preserve battery life. The Auto Shutoff feature will turn the HD Electric DVI-100T Digital Voltage Indicator off after three to four minutes of idleness. It is powered by a field-replaceable, 9V lithium/ alkaline battery.
The HD Electric DVI-100T Digital Voltage Indicator with Capacitive Test Point Mode is a simple-to-use single-point instrument suitable for measuring voltages of overhead, underground and transmission systems, as well as at elbow test points.
