HD Electric DVI-500 Digital Voltage Indicator – Choice of Kits

The HD Electric DVI-500 Digital Voltage Indicator is available as a standalone instrument or as part of a variety of kits. It has a standard operating frequency of 60Hz, however, 50Hz versions are available. Please see the ‘What’s Included?’ section for more information

The HD Electric DVI-500 Digital Voltage Indicator is a small, simple-to-use, single-point instrument designed to read voltages on conductors up to 500kV line-to-ground. This voltage indicator can be used on system voltages up to 800kV and will read potential differences between 0.1kV and 500kV. It is auto-ranging and as such does not feature any settings or a range selector switch. The user needs only connect the HD Electric DVI-500 Digital Voltage Indicator to the conductor and read the display.

Line-to-ground voltages are indicated via the HD Electric DVI-500 Digital Voltage Indicator’s large, 3-digit LED display. The operator can use this readout to ascertain whether voltages are induced or nominal. Additionally, the HD Electric DVI-500 Digital Voltage Indicator will issue an audible alert when voltages in excess of 100V AC are detected.

The 1.45” LED display has been designed to ensure that it is easy-to-read in both light and dark conditions as well as when the HD Electric DVI-500 Digital Voltage Indicator is connected to a long hotstick.

The HD Electric DVI-500 Digital Voltage Indicator features an integrated universal spline for standard hotstick attachment allowing it to be adapted for overhead and underground applications. It can be used to measure overhead and underground transmission and distribution systems and, to this end, is supplied as standard with a large overhead hook probe for transmission systems as well as a smaller overhead hook probe for distribution systems.

To ensure correct functionality, the operator can engage the built-in self-test function to verify correct operation before testing. The HD Electric DVI-500 Digital Voltage Indicator is also equipped with an Auto Shutoff function which will turn the instrument off after four minutes of inactivity, thereby preserving the field-replaceable 9V lithium/ alkaline battery’s life.

Finally, the HD Electric DVI-500 Digital Voltage Indicator is encased in a compact, lightweight, rugged polycarbonate housing, making it suitable for demanding applications. The HD Electric DVI-500 Digital Voltage Indicator is an adaptable, dependable, durable single-point voltage indicator.
