These scales are ideal for weighing large loads in rugged environments such as factories and warehouses; in particular, the Kern BID 1T-4EM Floor Scale has been designed for weighing euro-pallets. The NEW dual-range balances provide a greater maximum weight capacity whilst ensuring that lower range weights are still measured to the same high resolution. The new dual-range models do the job of two balances, saving the user space and money.
The Kern BID Floor Scales consist of a weighing bridge and display device. The weighing bridge is constructed from anti-slip, corrugated steel; four silicone-coated steel load cells, and is protected by a dust- and water-resistant, IP67 spray. The display device is also optimised for challenging environments and has an IP rating of 65.
The design of the Kern BID Floor Scales allows the user to access the junction box and level the weighing bridge from above.
Weights are indicated on the display. Via the display unit the user can access a number of functions, such as:
- Piece Counting
- Totalising: the weights of similar items are added together and the total is displayed and/or printed
- Hold: when weighing conditions are unstable the scales can be set to calculate an average weight
- Percentage Determination: the scales can be used to ascertain the percentage of the object’s deviation from the target weight (100%)
In addition to this, the user can program the Kern BID Floor Scales to include upper and lower limits, when these thresholds are reached or exceeded the balances will issue a visual and audible alarm.
The inclusion of an RS-232 interface facilitates a connection between the scales and the user’s PC or printer, allowing for data exchange. When weights are sent to print, they are printed with the date and time. It is also possible to connect these scales to a PC or printer via OPTIONAL USB, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or Ethernet connections.
Furthermore, it is possible to operate the Kern BID Floor Scales remotely via an external control instrument or PC due to the inclusion of Kern’s Communication Protocol (KCP), a standardised interface command structure for Kern scales. Via the KCP, the user can connect the Kern BID Floor Scales to digital systems, industrial control systems or computers allowing him/her to view, access, and manage all the scale’s parameters and functions. Additionally, the KCP is compatible with MT-SICS protocols, when the scales are used with the RS-232 data interface.
