Kern DAB 200-2 Moisture Analyser

The Kern DAB 200-2 Moisture Analyser can be used to determine the moisture content or dry content of materials via weight measurements. It has a moisture range of 0-100% and a dry range of 100-0%. This balance has a maximum weighting range of 200g.

Via the large, backlit, graphic display with a digit height of 14mm the user can view the following parameters:

• Current moisture content in %
• Current temperature
• Previous drying time
• The selected active switch-off criteria
• The selected active heating profile
• The active drying process

At the touch of a button, he/she can change between viewing the moisture content, dry content and weight of the sample. He/she can also alter the measurement units.

The Kern DAB 200-2 Moisture Analyser will retain the most up-to-date moisture measurement on the display until a new measurement is detected. This scale can be set to switch off automatically when a 2mg weight loss is measured within a 45-second period. As the Kern DAB 200-2 Moisture Analyser has a lower resolution than that of its sister product, the Kern DAB 100-3 Moisture Analyser, the switch-off criteria are reached quicker making this model ideal for recurring rapid tests and spot checks.

In addition to an automatic switch-off setting, the Kern DAB 200-2 Moisture Analyser can be programmed to turn off after a defined time interval; the user can select a time between 3 minutes and 99 minutes and 59 seconds (times are provided in 10s intervals). Alternatively, the Kern DAB 200-2 Moisture Analyser can be switched off manually at the touch of a button.

The sample is dried in the Kern DAB 200-2 Moisture Analyser’s 400W halogen-quartz glass heater with a temperature range of -40°C to +199°C (increments of 1°C). The Kern DAB 200-2 Moisture Analyser features three drying modes:

• Standard
• Gentle
• Rapid

It is possible to save automatic sequences for up to fifteen complete drying processes to the Kern DAB 200-2 Moisture Analyser’s internal memory. He/she can also store data for five complete drying processes. This data can be exported to a compatible Kern printer (NOT included) using the RS-232 interface; data will be printed with the date and time.

The Kern DAB 200-2 Moisture Analyser’s observation window allows the user to view his/her sample throughout the drying process; this window is also particularly useful when setting up the analyser.

Finally, the Kern DAB 200-2 Moisture Analyser is supplied with fifty sample plates.
