Kern MWS 300K-1LM Stretcher Scale

The Kern MWS 300K-1LM Stretcher Scale is designed to allow medical professionals to weigh patients on stretchers. It is approved as a medical instrument in accordance with 93/42/EEC and can be purchased with an OPTIONAL Kern MIII Verification.

A Kern MIII Verification (see ‘Accessories’) is required if the scale is to be used in any medical capacity within EU member states.

The Kern MWS 300K-1LM Stretcher Scale features a large (12x8m), steel weighing plate with a non-slip and wear-resistant surface; this, combined with its extensive measurement range (up to 300kg), makes the Kern MWS 300K-1LM Stretcher Scale ideal for weighing obese as well as wheelchair- and stretcher-bound patients.  

The Kern MWS 300K-1LM Stretcher Scale is held in place throughout the weighing procedure by its secure, non-slip and height-adjustable rubber feet. The adjustable feet allow the medical professional to tailor the Kern MWS 300K-1LM Stretcher Scale to the patient’s requirements, whilst the scale’s level indicator ensures that it remains balanced, and therefore capable of conducting measurements accurately.

Measurements are indicated on the Kern MWS 300K-1LM Stretcher Scale’s LCD display with a digit height of 25mm. The detachable display unit is connected to the weighing plate by a 1.8m cable and features two magnets on its rear side allowing it to be attached to any magnetic surface.

In addition to determining a patient’s weight, the Kern MWS 300K-1LM Stretcher Scale also features a number of measurement functions designed to increase measurement efficiency and safety. The Kern MWS 300K-1LM Stretcher Scale includes the following functions:

• Hold: this function can be used to determine an average weight when weighing conditions are unstable; this function is of particular use when weighing unsteady patients as the measurement is frozen on the display providing the medical professional with enough time to see to the patient before recording the reading
• BMI: this function can be used to ascertain whether the patient is of a normal weight, is underweight or is overweight

Readings can be sent to a compatible Kern printer (see ‘Accessories’) or PC using the integrated RS-232 interface.

Finally, the Kern MWS 300K-1LM Stretcher Scale has been designed to facilitate easy transportation, allowing it to be used in various locations. It includes two handles and two rollers and can be powered using replaceable batteries (NOT included), a mains power supply or an integrated battery pack (NOT included, see ‘Accessories’), allowing the user to adapt the scale to his/her surroundings.
