The Leofoto Armour LN-284CT & NB-40 is designed as a serious all-round support system, striking a balance between structural rigidity and practical portability. Built within Leofoto’s Armour range, it uses a 10-layer cross-woven carbon fibre construction that prioritises torsional stiffness and vibration damping — critical when working with longer focal lengths or slower shutter speeds. Despite its robust architecture, the complete setup weighs just 2.27kg, including the head, keeping it viable for extended location work without becoming a burden in transit.

The LN-284CT supports up to 15kg and has an adaptable height range: extending to 169cm for comfortable eye-level framing, while dropping to just 21.5cm by inverting the centre column for low-perspective macro or ground-level compositions. Folded down to 50.5cm, it remains compact enough for travel or field deployment. Four-section legs deploy smoothly via twist-lock collars that allow fast, one-handed adjustment, and one leg detaches to function as a monopod when mobility becomes a priority.

Stability is reinforced through practical detailing. A silica grip on one leg improves handling in cold weather, while shock-absorbing rubber feet maintain purchase on hard surfaces. When working on softer terrain, the supplied stainless steel spikes can be fitted for improved anchoring. The removable centre column features a hook for counterweighting and adjusts via a secure twist-lock mechanism.

The included NB-40 has dual 360° rotation at the base and clamp platform, for panoramic alignment without repositioning the legs. An Arca-Swiss compatible quick-release system with anti-slip pads ensures secure camera mounting, while a bubble level and clearly engraved degree scales assist with alignment. Independent friction adjustment allows the user to fine-tune resistance before locking off, supporting loads up to 16lb with smooth, predictable control.

Supplied with a carrying bag, rubber and spiked feet, a multi-tool and quick-release plate, the LN-284CT with NB-40 is configured as a complete, field-ready system.
