Martindale LOKKITGAS1 Gas Engineer Lockout Kit

The Martindale LOKKITGAS1 Gas Engineer Lockout Kit is optimised for gas engineers and technicians as it can be used to secure circuits to which gas appliances are connected prior to commencing inspection and/or repair work. To this end, the Martindale LOKKITGAS1 Gas Engineer Lockout Kit includes a variety of lockout instruments:

• 1x Martindale PAD10R Padlock with a Unique Key
• 1x Martindale LOKFS1 Universal Fused Spur Isolation Lock
• 1x Martindale LOK10 Yellow Pushpin MCB Lock (10mm spacing)
• 1x Martindale LOK11 Red Pushpin MCB Lock (8mm spacing)
• 1x Martindale LOK7 Black Slim Line Isolation Lock
• 1x Martindale TAG4 ‘Equipment Locked Out’ Tag (can be written on)
• 1x Martindale LOKMP Black Marker Pen
• 1x Martindale TC55 Soft Carry Case

This kit ensures that the user is able to implement correct and necessary safety procedures ensuring both compliance with Electricity at Work Regulations and the Gas Safe Register Technical Bulletin. Maintaining compliance with the aforementioned standards ensures the safety of maintenance and service personnel.

The inclusion of MCB locks and a Martindale LOKFS1 Universal Fused Spur Isolation Lock means that the user can easily lock off fixed wired appliances such as cookers, boilers, hand dryers and water heaters.

The Martindale LOKFS1 is designed for locking out single gang fused spur connection units complying with BS 1363-4. This is achieved in the following way:

1.)    Open the fuse tray

2.)    Remove the fuse

3.)    Secure the LOKFS1 using the screw heads on the existing facia plate

4.)    Lock off using a compatible padlock such as the included Martindale PAD10R Padlock

Locking off fixed wired appliances using the above method prevents re-insertion of the fuse thereby ensuring that they cannot be accidentally activated. As indicated above the engineer/ technician does not require additional tools to apply the Martindale LOKFS1 Universal Fused Spur Isolation Lock.

The Martindale LOKFS1 Universal Fused Spur Isolation Lock is compatible with an array of fused spurs and is able to accommodate cable trunking connections and flexible outlet cabling from the fuse. The Martindale LOKFS1 Universal Fused Spur Isolation Lock’s design features industry standard fixing centres and does not feature any metal parts having been constructed entirely out of polypropylene.
