A line-operated, field-portable resistance tester designed for accurately and reliably measuring the DC resistance of all types of magnetic windings such as rotator machine windings and transformers. The Megger MTO210 Transformer Ohmmeter can also perform low-current resistance measurements on connections, contacts, and control circuits. It is ideal for testing the windings and contact resistance of tap-changers with “make-before-break” contacts and voltage regulators; the Megger MTO210 will alert the user if pitted or misaligned contacts are detected.
Equipped with a dual set of potential inputs and a dual readout, the Megger MTO210 Transformer Ohmmeter can measure the resistance of the primary and secondary windings of a single- or three-phase transformer simultaneously. This improves efficiency when testing low voltage windings on large three-phase power transformers.
The Megger MTO210 Transformer Ohmmeter measures resistance between 1mΩ to 2000Ω to an accuracy of 0.25%. Data is displayed on the Megger MTO210’s high-contrast, large, alphanumeric display (readable in bright sunlight) and can be stored to the internal flash memory; measurements may be exported to a PC for analysis or printing via the RS232 serial port.
A user-selectable maximum current range protects small transformers; the Megger MTO210 Transformer Ohmmeter provides a maximum 10A DC test current. In addition to this, it includes an integrated demagnetisation circuit which demagnetises the transformer core once resistance testing is complete. The demagnetisation circuit can also be used as a stand-alone feature before SFRA testing or when the transformer is put back into service. Furthermore, the Megger MTO210 Transformer Ohmmeter features a built-in discharge circuit for safely discharging the transformer when the test is complete or if a lead accidentally disconnects or power is lost. The Megger MTO210 Transformer Ohmmeter delivers a very fast discharge time.
The Megger MTO210 Transformer Ohmmeter can be operated while in its transit case; the leads will also stay connected while the tester is in the case. Other useful features include:
- Beacon drive circuit for use with an optional beacon strobe light
- Remote trigger switch for testing transformers with tap-changers
- Ruggedised clamps with 100mm/ 4-inch jaws, removing the need for bushing adapters
- Detachable lid
The Megger MTO210 Transformer Ohmmeter is a durable, dependable, accurate transformer resistance tester.
