The Metrel CS 2890 Power Calibrator/ Simulator is a handheld, four-phase waveform generator with a 4.3” TFT colour display. It can be used to calibrate and adjust Metrel’s Class A and Class S Power Quality Analysers, as well as simulate voltage and current power quality phenomena and other electrical events. It is ideal for calibration, adjustment, training, demonstration, and education purposes.
Power Simulation
The Metrel CS 2890 Power Calibrator/ Simulator supports simultaneous voltage and current simulation. It features four voltage channels with a simulation range up to 350Vrms and four current channels with current clamp simulation up to 2000A. Furthermore, the Metrel CS 2890 Power Calibrator/ Simulator includes 16-bit digital to analogue conversion for accurate signal generation, as well as comprehensive signal parameter and event occurrence (key, manual, periodically, random) settings which enable simulation of various faults/events and electrical phenomena. The Metrel CS 2890 can simulate the following:
- Dip, swell, interrupt, signalling, transient, and inrush events
- Voltage and current harmonics waveforms
- Unbalanced voltage and current waveforms
- Square flicker
- Various character load/ character type (inductive/ capacitive) combinations
- Voltage, current, and frequency
- Harmonics, phase angle, phase sequence, and unbalance (U, I)
Calibration & Adjustment
The Metrel CS 2890 Power Calibrator/ Simulator can be used to calibrate and adjust the following Class A and Class S PQAs:
- Metrel MI 2892 PowerMaster Power Quality Analyser
- Metrel MI 2885 Master Q4 Power Quality Analyser
- Metrel MI 2883 Energy Master Power Quality Analyser
It includes predefined calibration points specific to the aforementioned instruments; these calibration/adjustment points have a voltage/current stability of ±0.06%. The Metrel CS 2890 Power Calibrator/ Simulator also supports fine adjustment of the calibration points using a highly precise voltmeter.
The Metrel CS 2890 Power Calibrator/ Simulator is a precise, versatile, and ergonomic calibration, adjustment, and simulation instrument.
