The Metrel MI3288 Earth Insulation Tester is a portable, rugged (IP54 and 300V CAT III), battery-operated earth tester. It supports an eclectic selection of earth resistance measuring methods including four-wire earth resistance; one-clamp earth resistance; two-clamp earth resistance; and four-wire specific earth resistance. In addition to earth resistance and specific earth resistance, the Metrel MI3288 can ascertain earth potential, step and touch voltages, true-RMS current, insulation resistance, and continuity of protection conductors of various energetic and non-energetic objects. This universal tester can also determine the breakdown voltage of overvoltage protection devices. Measurements are indicated on the 4.3-inch LCD touchscreen and can be saved to the Metrel MI3288 for download to a PC using the Metrel ES Manager Software. This PC application can also be used to evaluate data and create reports.
Offering programmable Auto Sequences and high and low limits, as well as single or automated measurements, the Metrel MI3288 delivers the following tests:
When conducting earth measurements, the Metrel MI3288 provides a multi-frequency test signal on the output voltage (20/40 V AC). This ensures the best noise immunity (55Hz is also supported).
Data is indicated on the Metrel MI3288 Earth Insulation Tester’s 4.3-inch, colour, touchscreen LCD. Built-in Bluetooth connectivity facilitates communication with a PC, Android tablets and smartphones. Metrel’s ES Manager PC Software enables pre- and post-processing of test structures; results download; tree-view, table-view and graphical-view of data; as well as storing and printing of measurements.
Practically, the Metrel MI3288 is powered by rechargeable Li-Ion batteries and includes an integrated charger. Additionally, it offers a high degree of protection. The Metrel MI3288 Earth Insulation Tester is IP54-rated and is certified 600V CAT II, 300V CAT III (at 4000m above sea level).
