The Sofamel VTO-5 P analogue voltage detectors do not require a battery to operate, they also include an insulating pole, 1.3m or 2m. The detector indicates to the operator if there is an electric field through direct contact detection to guarantee that the area is safe for work. The self-checking system uses an incorporated piezoelectric generator.
