An Introduction to FLIR Thermal Cameras
FLIR, a leader in thermal imaging technology, offers a robust selection of thermal cameras to suit various needs and budgets. These cameras, also known as infrared cameras, utilise heat signatures to create images, allowing you to 'see' beyond the limitations of visible light.
For beginners or those seeking a budget-friendly option, we would suggest that the FLIR ONE Edge is a great starting point. This compact, smartphone-attached FLIR thermal imaging camera is perfect for basic tasks around the house or for hobbyists. Simply connect it to your smartphone and it provides thermal overlays on your phone's display, making it easy to identify temperature variations.
Stepping up a level, the E Series is a range of handheld FLIR thermal cameras with increased resolution and functionality. The FLIR E5, for example, is a rugged and user-friendly option for building inspections, HVAC troubleshooting, and electrical maintenance. It features a 160 x 120 resolution thermal sensor and FLIR's MSX technology that adds visible light details to thermal images for enhanced clarity.
If you are a professional thermographer, we recommend you move up the E Series into models like the E96, where you'll find higher resolutions, wider temperature ranges, interchangeable lenses, and advanced reporting software.
Beyond this range, we offer A Series and T Series, which are at the top end of of our FLIR thermal camera range. These cameras, again, offer higher resolutions, wider temperature ranges, and more accuracy.
