Aim-TTi CPX400S Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply - 420W, 1 Output

The Aim-TTi CPX400S Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply is an ergonomic and easy-to-use flexible power supply optimised for conventional bench-top use in laboratories.

PowerFlex Design

This single-channel PSU has a total power output of 420W, a maximum voltage output of 60V, and a maximum current output of 20A. Its channel can operate in constant current or constant voltage mode with crossover and includes a mode indicator and over-voltage protection.

The PowerFlex design enables variable voltage and current combinations within the maximum power envelope and allows higher currents to be generated at lower voltages.

Additionally, the PowerFlex regulation system includes a high-frequency pre-regulator combined with a linear post regulator to provide the Aim-TTi CPX400S Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply with a good transient response and low noise.

Ergonomic Design

As mentioned above, the Aim-TTi CPX400S Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply is optimised for conventional benchtop use. To this end, it is compact; the Aim-TTi CPX400S Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply is housed in a ¼ rack width 3U high case.

In addition to this, the Aim-TTi CPX400S Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply includes safety binding posts capable of accepting normal plugs, bare wires, and fork connections, as well as fixed-shroud 4mm plugs commonly found in laboratories. Furthermore, due to the binding post’s limited opening length and insulated shoulders, they are touch-proof to 250V.

Analogue Control with Digital Stability

Also adding to the practicality and ease of use of the Aim-TTi CPX400S Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply are its analogue controls. Using the coarse and fine voltage controls and logarithmic current control (ideal for setting low-level currents accurately) the user can configure the required outputs.

To prevent the specified settings from drifting or from becoming accidentally altered, the user can press the S-Lock button to transfer control of the voltage and current settings to the internal digital circuitry. As a result, the Aim-TTi CPX400S Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply is equipped with the ease and simplicity of analogue control and the precision and stability of digital control.

Settings can be viewed and altered as necessary by pressing the Aim-TTi CPX400S Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply’s View Settings button.

Fixed Power Supply

In addition to functioning as a flexible PSU, the Aim-TTi CPX400S Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply can serve as a fixed-output power supply at 60V/7A or 20V/20A. When engaged, the Fixed Power Supply mode ensures the unit remains in constant current or constant voltage mode despite the load. Additionally, while in this mode the resolution of the voltage and current controls is finer.

The Aim-TTi CPX400S Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply’s current and voltage limits can be customised to accommodate the range required for the user’s application.

Precision Metering and Remote Sense

The Aim-TTi CPX400S Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply’s voltage and current meter indicate readings via its 4-digit display. The display has a fixed resolution of 10mV/ 10mA to prevent misinterpretation of readings. The user can view accurate and consistent measurements at a glance.

Moreover, to ensure precise regulation at the load and true metering of the load voltage, the Aim-TTi CPX400S Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply includes a remote sense terminal at the output. The Aim-TTi CPX400S Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply’s remote sense terminal can be enabled and disabled as required.

The Aim-TTi CPX400S Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply is a compact, flexible, and easy-to-use PSU.

Voltage Tracking (CPX400D & DP)
Independent Mode In the normal mode of operation, each output is fully independent and isolated. Operation is
equivalent to two single-output power supplies.
Voltage Tracking Mode The two outputs remain isolated, but the Slave voltage controls are disabled and the Slave
voltage is set equal to the Master voltage. This can be used to generate tracking bipolar voltages or tracking unipolar voltages relative to different grounds.
When voltages greater than 60V are required, the outputs can be wired in series to generate
0 to 120V with the voltage controlled from the Master.
When currents greater than 20A are required, the outputs can be wired in parallel to create
the equivalent of a 40A power supply with the voltage controlled by the Master.
Track Accuracy: Slave voltage = ± (0·1% of Master voltage setting + 10mV)
Both On/ Both Off (CP400D & DP) Each output has an independent DC On/Off control, however, an additional control button is
provided which turns both outputs on or off simultaneously.
Analogue Remote Interface (CPX400SA Only)
The CPX400SA offers galvanically isolated analogue remote control of voltage and current
from control voltages. Voltage and current front panel settings generate non-isolated analogue
output voltages that can be used to control slave power supplies.
