Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply – 600W, 2 Outputs

The Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply is a dual-output, laboratory DC PSU suitable for benchtop, system and rack-mounted applications. It provides a wide range of voltage and current combinations for maximum flexibility.

PowerFlex+ Design

The Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply’s PowerFlex+ design provides a vast range of voltage and current combinations equipping it with maximum flexibility. It also enables higher currents to be generated at lower voltages within the overall power limit envelope. The Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply is able to provide six times the current of a conventional PSU.

To improve dynamic performance and minimise ripple, the Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply’s PowerFlex+ utilises a multi-phase converter.

Dual Independent or Tracking Outputs

Each of the Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply’s channels can provide a voltage output up to 80V and a current output up to 50A within the total power output of 600W. As the Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply’s outputs are independent they can support various tracking modes.

The Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply includes a tracking mode designed for use when the outputs have been wired in parallel or series. This mode will provide metering of the total voltage or the total current.

When wired in parallel or series, the Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply’s outputs can provide a maximum voltage output of 160V and a maximum current output of 100A within the expanded 1200W power limit envelope.

Independent or Simultaneous Output Control

Both of the Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply’s outputs feature an On/ Off switch enabling them to be activated and deactivated individually. To facilitate simultaneous activation and deactivation, the Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply includes Both On and Both Off buttons. This is useful when working on circuits that may be damaged if only one voltage rail is present.

Numeric or Rotary Entry

Voltage and current levels can be configured using the numeric keypad or the jog wheel with specified increments. The Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply has a setting resolution of 1mV.

Memory Setting Stores

Each of the Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply’s outputs includes a non-volatile store for saving voltage and current settings. These stores allow settings to be recalled rapidly which is particularly useful for repetitive testing applications.

OVP and OCP Trips

Additionally, the Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply’s outputs support variable over-voltage and over-current trips. When triggered the OVP and OCP trips will shut off the output and provide a different level of protection.

The cause of OVP and OCP trip activation is indicated on the Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply’s display: the OVP and OCP trips can be triggered by other fault conditions such as temperature and remote sense mis-wiring.

Graphic Display

The Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply includes two high-resolution, graphic LCD displays; one for each output. In Standard Display mode, the Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply indicates the voltage and current in large characters alongside annotations such as ‘CV mode’ and ‘Output On’. The Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply can be programmed to display numbers and text in a variety of sizes.

Dual-parameter display is utilised when settings are being altered: the user can view the new and existing settings, or the actual and limit values in parallel. Furthermore, when configuring complex functions, the Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply provides text prompts or complete selection menus.

Power Calculation

The Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply’s Power Calculation function indicates the total power provided to the load (V x A) alongside the voltage and current. Total power provided to the load is displayed to a resolution of 0.1W.

Low Resistance Calculation

Alternatively, the Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply can be programmed to display the equivalent resistance of the load (V/A).

The Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply’s remote sense terminals are used as a four-terminal connection during resistance measurements; this method provides reliable results when measuring the resistance of components that operate at ampere levels, such as magnets. The Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply is able to measure low resistance at high currents.

Current Meter Averaging

The Current Meter Averaging function proves particularly useful when measuring rapidly changing loads. It stabilises the Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply’s display and reduces the speed and degree of variation by providing an average reading calculated from the preceding four measurements.

Ergonomic Design

The Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply is suitable for benchtop, system and rack-mounted applications. To this end, it is housed in a 350mm (13 ¾”)-wide, 3U-high case and is equipped with remote sense terminals and analogue and logic connectors on the front and rear of the unit.

Analogue and Logic Interfaces

The Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply’s outputs are equipped with analogue interfaces for the voltage control of output voltage and output current (non-isolated, one for each output).

The Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply’s control voltages are digitised and scaling can be selected between 0 to 5V or 0 to 10V for zero to full scale. The Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply’s monitor output for voltage and current can also be selected as 0 to 5V or 0 to 10V.

In addition to this, the Aim-TTi QPX600DP Digital Bench Power Supply features an opto-isolated logic control signal for control of output on/off. It can be programmed as true = output on or true = output off. Furthermore, the opto-isolated open-collector logic output signal can be set as true or false for output enabled or disabled, current limit, power limit or any fault trip.

The Aim-TTi QPX600D Digital Bench Power Supply is a flexible, comprehensive and easy-to-use laboratory PSU.
