C.Scope CXL3 Cable Avoidance Tool

The C.Scope CXL3 Cable Avoidance Tool is a robust, industry-standard, ‘pick-up-and-go’ cable locator suitable for identifying and tracing buried pipes, cables and utilities. It is equipped with three detection modes making it suitable for use with the C.Scope SGA3 33kHz Signal Generator or as a standalone instrument. 

Three Detection Modes

The C.Scope CXL3 Cable Avoidance Tool can quickly and reliably locate buried services prior to excavation limiting the possibility of dangerous and costly hits. To facilitate this, the C.Scope CXL3 Cable Avoidance Tool features three detection modes. During detection, the C.Scope CXL3 Cable Avoidance Tool will issue a real-time audio response and will display relevant information on the LCD meter.  

Power

The Power mode provides the most efficient way of locating buried electricity cables. When set to this mode, the C.Scope CXL3 Cable Avoidance Tool will detect the signal emitted by the electrical current.

Radio

In Radio mode, the C.Scope CXL3 Cable Avoidance Tool can be used by itself. It will detect the re-radiated radio-type signals that are often present on buried metal pipes and cables. By detecting these signals the C.Scope CXL3 Cable Avoidance Tool can determine the position of buried services.

Generator

The Generator mode requires the C.Scope CXL3 CAT to be used with the C.Scope SGA3 33kHz Genny. In this mode the C.Scope CXL3 Cable Avoidance Tool will detect the signal applied to a metal pipe or cable by the C.Scope SGA3 33kHz Genny, allowing it to identify and trace buried utilities. In addition to this, when set to the Generator mode the C.Scope CXL3 Cable Avoidance Tool can also detect the signal being transmitted by a C.Scope Sonde, allowing it to trace non-metallic pipes.

This simple-to-use cable locator includes easy-to-operate fingertip controls, as well as an LCD meter, detachable loudspeaker and storage space for spare batteries. Moreover, the C.Scope CXL3 Cable Avoidance Tool is robustly constructed and fully weatherproof to IP65, ensuring that it is suitable for use in outdoor environments.
