C.Scope SGA3 33kHz Signal Generator

The C.Scope SGA3 33kHz Signal Generator is a durable, dependable and affordable signal transmitter that outputs a 33kHz signal. It is designed to be used alongside C. Scope’s CXL3 or DXL3 Cable Avoidance Tools to find and avoid buried pipes, services, utilities and cables, including street lighting cables.

The C.Scope SGA3 33kHz Signal Generator has a High and Low switchable power output.

Two Signal Application Techniques

The C.Scope SGA3 33kHz Signal Generator outputs a 33kHz signal which energises underground metal pipes and cables enabling the aforementioned C.Scope CXL3 and DXL3 Cable Avoidance Tools to detect these buried services/ utilities.

The C.Scope SGA3 33kHz Signal Generator can apply the 33kHz signal using one of two methods: Direct Connection or Induction.

Direct Connection

The Direct Connection method is the best way of identifying and tracing individual pipes and cables. It also enables the user to measure the depths of buried services/ utilities. The Direct Connection method is most precise and effective when a signal clamp, signal injectors or direct connection lead is used.

Induction

To energise, and subesquenty detect, previously unknown or undetected and/or inaccessible cables the C.Scope SGA3 33kHz Signal Generator will induce a signal in these buried services/ utilities from above ground.

Pulsed & Continuous Signal Output

Pulsed Signal Output mode can be used to enable tracing in situations/ areas where there is high interference. The user can swap from Continuous Signal Output mode to Pulsed Signal Output mode at the push of a button.

When transmitting a 33kHz signal, the C.Scope SGA3 33kHz Signal Generator will issue an audible signal output. The operator can mute this output using the audio mute control.

Robust, Durable & Ergonomic

The C.Scope SGA3 33kHz Signal Generator features a twin-wall construction with a large detachable base that functions as an accessory tray. The accessory tray is large enough to store the instruction manual and standard accessories supplied with this Genny (see ‘What’s Included?’), as well as OPTIONAL accessories such as signal clamps, sondes and signal injectors.

The C.Scope SGA3 33kHz Signal Generator is robust and durable with an ingress protection rating of IP65, making it suitable for rugged outdoor environments.

The C.Scope SGA3 33kHz Signal Generator is an economic, ergonomic and effective Genny ideal for increasing the number of buried services/ utilities that are energised and subsequently detected using the C.Scope CXL3 and DXL3 Cable Avoidance Tools. Therefore it can be used to reduce cable strikes.
