The Extech CT20 Remote and Local Continuity Tester can be used to give quick and easy indication of local continuity when testing the internal wiring configuration of cables.
It is suited for long distance wire/cable runs and using the included remote probe of this instrument means that it does not require two people in order to identify and label wiring and cabling correctly.
To cut down on the time wandering spent back and forth the CT20 allows a user to easily identify up to three wires/cables at the same time by use of a two leak bi-colour LED probe. The instrument also utilises polarity verification by driving a 20mA DC current pulse through wires or cables to the bi-colour probe, allowing the technician to easily identify wires under test and eliminating the possibility of incorrect high impedance readings.
To make sure that this tester can be hung from cables and remain in place without falling off it is lightweight and pocketsize.
