HD Electric DVI-500T Digital Voltage Indicator w/ Capacitive Test Kits

The HD Electric DVI-500T Digital Voltage Indicator with Capacitive Test Point Mode is available as part of a selection of kits. As standard this instrument has an operating frequency of 60Hz, however, 50Hz versions are available. Please see the ‘What’s Included?’ section for further details.

The HD Electric DVI-500T Digital Voltage Indicator is a single-point instrument designed for reading voltages on conductors up to 500kV line-to-ground. This model has the added capability of being able to take voltage readings at elbow test points using the included HD Electric IEP-DVI-5 Underground Bushing Probe.

Like its sister product, the HD Electric DVI-500 Digital Voltage Indicator, the HD Electric DVI-500T Digital Voltage Indicator can measure overhead and underground transmission and distribution systems. Similarly, it too is supplied as standard with a large overhead hook probe for transmission systems, as well as a smaller overhead hook probe for distribution systems. The HD Electric DVI-500T Digital Voltage Indicator includes an integrated universal spline for standard hotstick attachment, enabling it to be adapted for overhead and underground applications.

The HD Electric DVI-500T Digital Voltage Indicator can be used on systems with voltages up to 800kV and is capable of reading voltages between 0.1kV and 500kV. This instrument is auto-ranging: it does not include settings or a range selector switch. To conduct measurements the user needs only connect the HD Electric DVI-500T Digital Voltage Indicator to the conductor and view the readings on the display.

The user can see the line-to-ground voltage measurements via the large, 1.45”, 3-digit LED display. Using the readout, he/she can determine whether voltages are induced or nominal. The LED display has been designed to ensure that it is easy to read in bright and dark conditions, as well as when the HD Electric DVI-500T Digital Voltage Indicator is connected to the end of a long hotstick.

In addition to indicating line-to-ground voltage readings via the LED display, the HD Electric DVI-500T Digital Voltage Indicator will issue an audible alert when voltages of 100V AC and above are detected.

The HD Electric DVI-500T Digital Voltage Indicator is equipped with a self-test function allowing the user to ascertain whether it is functioning correctly. It also includes an Auto Shutoff function which will turn the HD Electric DVI-500T Digital Voltage Indicator off after four minutes of idleness, thereby preserving the field-replaceable 9V lithium/ alkaline battery’s life.

Finally, the HD Electric DVI-500T Digital Voltage Indicator’s rugged, lightweight, compact polycarbonate housing makes it suitable for demanding environments. The HD Electric DVI-500T Digital Voltage Indicator with Capacitive Test Point Mode is a resilient, reliable and adaptable single-point voltage indicator with the added capability of being able to conduct readings at elbow test points.
