When used with the HD Electric PF-50T Cable Identifier Transmitter, the HD Electric PF-50R Cable Identifier Receiver can be used to determine cable lengths as well as correct phasing. It is suitable for use on de-energised and discharged overhead and underground cables and is designed for use in the following way:
Once the cable has been isolated, tested and grounded, the ground clips on the transmitter and receiver are connected to a known system ground
The transmitter and receiver are turned on
Each unit is touched to each end of the cable-under-investigation
The super-bright red LEDs will illuminate when the transmitter and receiver are connected to the same cable
In addition to three super-bright red LEDs, designed to alert the user when the HD Electric PF-50T Cable Identifier Transmitter and HD Electric PF-50R Cable Identifier Receiver are connected to the same cable, these instruments also feature a green battery LED. Furthermore, they can accommodate OPTIONAL hotsticks, are handheld and can be easily operated whether or not the user is wearing gloves.
Additionally, the compact, lightweight and easy-to-use HD Electric PF-50R Cable Identifier Receiver includes a large copper alligator clip with heavy-duty boot and is powered by a field-replaceable, 9V lithium/ alkaline battery.
As the HD Electric PF-50R Cable Identifier Receiver and HD Electric PF-50T Cable Identifier Transmitter use a higher test voltage, 50VDC, these instruments can be used to identify cables of greater lengths, for instance up to 5000 feet.
The HD Electric PF-50R Cable Identifier Receiver is a simple-to-use and practical tool designed to determine cable lengths and correct phasing when used with the HD Electric PF-50T Cable Identifier Transmitter.
