The HD Electric PF-50T Cable Identifier Transmitter is designed to be used in conjunction with the HD Electric PF-50R Cable Identifier Receiver to determine the correct phases and lengths of de-energised and discharged overhead and underground cables.
The higher test voltage (50VDC) allows cables of greater lengths to be tested. When used with a compatible receiver, the HD Electric PF-50T Cable Identifier Transmitter can be used to identify cables up to 5000 feet in length.
Like the HD Electric PF-50R Cable Identifier Receiver, the HD Electric PF-50T Cable Identifier Transmitter is handheld and can be operated with or without gloves. Similarly, it can accommodate an OPTIONAL hotstick and is equipped with a green LED battery indicator and three red LEDs. The red LEDs illuminate when both the HD Electric PF-50T Cable Identifier Transmitter and the HD Electric PF-50R Cable Identifier Receiver are connected to the same cable.
The HD Electric PF-50T Cable Identifier Transmitter can be used with the HD Electric PF-50R Cable Identifier Receiver in the following way:
Once the cable has been isolated, tested and grounded, the ground clips on the transmitter and receiver are connected to a known system ground
The transmitter and receiver are turned on
Each unit is touched to each end of the cable-under-investigation
The super-bright red LEDs will illuminate when the transmitter and receiver are connected to the same cable
Each of these compact, lightweight, easy-to-use units is powered by a field-replaceable, 9V lithium/ alkaline battery and is equipped with large copper alligator clips with heavy-duty boots.
The HD Electric PF-50T Cable Identifier Transmitter is an easy-to-use, effective and ergonomic tool that can be used with the equally simple-to-use and practical HD Electric PF-50R Cable Identifier Receiver to determine cable lengths and phases.
