The IET Electrician’s Guide to Emergency Lighting 3rd Edition is yet to be released. However; it is available for pre-order.
The IET Electrician’s Guide to Emergency Lighting 3rd Edition provides information regarding the standards and regulations relevant to the design, installation and testing of emergency lighting.
This publication is a revision of the IET’s previous Electrician’s Guide to Emergency Lighting 2nd Edition and has been written to include changes made to the BS 5266-1:2016 Code of Practice for Emergency Lighting and BS 7671:2018, IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
The IET 18th Edition, BS 7671:2018 regulations will replace the IET’s 17th Edition regulations on the 1st January 2019, therefore all electrical systems designed and installed after the 31st December 2018 will have to be compliant with these new standards.
In accommodating changes to the BS 5266-1:2016 Code of Practice the IET Electrician’s Guide to Emergency Lighting 3rd Edition ensures that it remains aligned with national, European and international legislation for emergency lighting. Further to this, in detailing these updates the reader is made aware of the changes to legislation made to accommodate the application of emergency lighting when it is used to maintain the safety of occupants who may stay in a building during a mains supply failure.
Therefore, the IET Electrician’s Guide to Emergency Lighting 3rd Edition is an essential read for all designers of emergency lighting systems, electricians, electrical contractors and students in further education and professional training.
