The MI 3290 Earth Analyser is available in multiple sets which are a combination of different accessories and measurement functions please note some functions may only work if you have relevant accessory, please refer to the set specifications below. The functionality of an existing set can be expanded by ordering additional accessories and license keys.

Metrels MI3290 Earth Analyser is a compact and portable test instrument which can be run on either mains or battery making it suitable for most environments, with an IP rating of 54 with the case open. The MI3290 is intended for use in the field of measuring earth resistance and earth potential of various energetic and non-energetic objects. With various test methods available to the user, from 3-wire earth resistance to 1-4 clamp method for pylons.

Metrel MI3290GX1 Earth Analyser is capable of the following measuring functions:
- Earth Resistance 2,3,4 -pole;
- Selective Earth Resist (1 x clamp);
- Earth Resistance (2 x iron clamps);
- Specific Earth Resistance (Wenner and Schlumberger method);
- HF-Earth Resistance (25 kHz, acc. to IEEE_Std 81);
- Earth Resistance of mono pylons with 10 m flex clamp;
- Earth Resistance of multi–leg pylons with up to four flex clamps;
- Current measurement (Iron, flex clamps);
- Low Ohm measurement 7 mA and 200 mA;
- Earth Potential;
- Step and contact measurements;
- Impulse Earth measurement 10/350 µs.
With a wide variety of functions and tests and the noise immunity filter which makes for more accurate results in industrial environments, the MI3290 is the most comprehensive model in the range and is more suited to people with experience in the field.
The unit is built inside its own protective carry case with an IP protection of 65 when closed and 54 when open, the screen is a 3.4’’ colour LCD display with touch screen with an intuitive menu system, capable of touch gestures to perform navigational shortcuts. The screen displays full readings, warnings and notifications, helpful diagrams and limit indications.
