Impending Net Zero targets and a generally favourable view of solar energy mean that dependence on PV installations is likely to increase. In 2023, there were 1.3 million 50kW solar power installations registered with the MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme).[1] Moreover, an Open Access Government report found that solar accounted for 25% of energy demand during the summer.[2] Meanwhile, the January 2024 edition of ECN highlighted that solar provided 15GW of energy in 2023 and that this is likely to increase to 43GW over the next five years.[3] This means there has never been a better time to get into solar installation and maintenance. However, first you must have the right tools. Thankfully, Heliel Morales, FLIR’s Director of Global Business Development, visited the PASS Presents studio to explain how FLIR’s solar solutions can help you meet the PV demands of the future.
