About Moisture Analysers

A Moisture Analyser, which is also referred to as a moisture balance or moisture meter, is an instrument used to determine the moisture content of a sample. It consists of an infrared weighing and heating unit. It detects levels in chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food products, grains, wood, soils, and sludge. Moisture content can directly impact product quality as well as research applications.

To determine the moisture level the analyser weighs a sample, heats and dries it, and weighs it again once it's dry. The process is more commonly known as Loss on Drying (LOD), a standard method for measuring moisture.
