About the UNI-T UT527 PAT Tester

Important Note: the UT527 will only tell if an appliance passes or fails the test, it won't show full test readings. If you require these, consider upgrading to the UT528 instead >>

It's quite a common thing to think you have to be an electrician to perform PAT testing. It's also completely untrue - anyone can learn to PAT test, and our UNI-T UT527 PAT Essentials kit includes everything you'll need to learn.

After working through included training USB (recommended if you don't already have PAT experience), you'll be able to use the UNI-T UT527 in your business to check the safety of your appliances with ease.

The UNI-T UT527 is designed with simplicity in mind - all testing procedures are assigned to specific buttons and there's a little complicated setup required to use the tester. We have sold many of these units to complete beginners who have gone on to safely perform their own PAT testing for their business.

What Appliances Can the UT527 Test?

This PAT tester is ready for testing a wide variety of electrical appliances that you'll find commonly around your office, charity shop, care home, etc.

It can test:

• Class I Electrical Appliances - includes such things as kettles, toasters, microwaves, fridges, etc
• Class II Electrical Appliances - includes things such as drills, televisions, lamps, and other power tools
• IT Equipment - the UT527 performs a safe, low current earth bond test so it won't damage IT equipment
• IEC Leads and Extension Leads* - always make sure you test detachable power supplies too during PAT testing
• 110V and 415V Equipment - easily test 110V-powered appliances or three-phase 415V equipment with appropriate adapters (adaptors sold separately)
• *NEW for 2021* 250V Insulation Resistance Updated 5th Edition models now include 250V insulation resistance test for testing sensitive and surge-protected equipment
