To help you decide exactly which PAT tester you need, we break down our instruments into three categories: entry-level, mid-range and professional.
Entry Level PAT Testers - ideal for beginners, these testers carry out all necessary procedures to check electrical appliances commonly found in offices, public areas and residential dwellings. They're simple to use, require minimal effort from the user and don't come with memory and other advanced functions.
The following testers are classed as entry-level products:
Mid-Range PAT Testers - More advanced than entry-level instruments, these testers sometimes include built-in memory for storage of testing data, perform more procedures and can be used on specific types of equipment such as those that run using 110V.
The following testers are classed as mid-range instruments:
Professional PAT Testers - Best suited to applications with a large amount of appliances to test, professional-grade PAT testers include advanced testing functions, memory with download to PC and can be used to attach optional extras such as printers and barcode scanners.
The following testers are classed as professional PAT testers:
Our kits are broken down into specific bundle packages known as bundle 1, 2, 3 and so on. We also stock a range of basic PAT testing kits which come with a smaller pack of essential accessories.
Generally the higher the number, e.g. bundle 5, the more equipment is supplied as standard with the pack.
Although there are exceptions to the rule, here's the type of items you can expect to find in each type of kit:
Basic PAT Kits
Everything you'd expect to find in bundle 1, plus software specifically made for your tester.
Everything in bundle 2 plus barcode scanners and barcoded labels.
Each PAT kit is broken down further on the product's page and contains all the information you need to make a decision on which PAT tester is right for you.
