The CorDEX TP3rEX TOUGHPIX DIGITHERM Digital & Thermal Camera (9Hz) is suitable for HVAC, electrical repair and facility maintenance applications, as well as building envelope inspections in hazardous and explosive areas. It is also particularly well suited to applications within the oil and gas industry. The imager can be used to find, identify and document faulty components and/or sources of damp and heat loss.

Furthermore, with the addition of Wi-Fi connectivity, it is possible to download and share images of faults thereby increasing work efficiency. Downloading images to a smartphone or tablet is facilitated by the camera’s Wi-Fi connectivity and CorDEX’s CONNECT Mobile App or an onboard web server. Alternatively, media can be saved to the thermal camera’s removable 4GB memory card.

The CorDEX TP3rEX TOUGHPIX DIGITHERM can be used to capture 5MP Visual images and radiometric thermal images. It is capable of detecting and measuring temperatures between -10°C and +380°C with an accuracy of up to 2°C or 2%. Its ATB (Adaptive Thermal Blending) technology combines visual and thermal images in real time to produce pictures of greater clarity and detail. These blended images are of particular use when locating and identifying faulty components.

Another feature present on the CorDEX TP3rEX is alarm-triggered recording. However, this camera has no call for a macro mode as its high-resolution, 5MP visual sensor features an automatic, motorised focus and a large depth of field. It can resolve images as close as 5cm away, making it suitable for viewing 1mm² targets in clear detail. As a result of this, and its real-time review of images, the CorDEX TP3rEX TOUGHPIX DIGITHERM is equipped with a simple operating procedure:

1.)    Point the camera at the desired target

2.)    Allow the camera to auto-focus

3.)    Review the image via the full-colour display

4.)    When satisfied with the image quality press the shoot button to capture the image

Moreover, the camera features a powerful, ultrabright LED flash ensuring that it can be used to capture images in areas with low levels of light.

Also expanding this digital and thermal imager’s scope-for-use is its rugged, intrinsically safe design, which makes it suitable for use in hazardous and explosive areas. It has been drop tested from 1m and has an IP rating of 54 ensuring that it is resistant to dust and water ingress. Further to this, it will remain undamaged in temperatures as wide-ranging as -20°C to +60°C and is ATEX/ IECEx certified making it suitable for hazardous and explosive areas (see ‘Technical Specifications’ for certification details).

This compact, tough camera is constructed from aircraft-grade aluminium ensuring that it is lightweight and therefore easy to handle over prolonged periods of time. It also features soft-touch keys for easy operation and a removable, rechargeable battery.
