The Beha-Amprobe UAT-500-TE Transmitter issues 33kHz signals and is designed for use with Beha-Amprobe’s UAT-600-R Receiver. It can be used to find buried utilities at depths of up to100 feet and is suitable for tracing energised and deenergised wires, cables, and metallic and non-metallic pipes.
The Beha-Amprobe UAT-500-TE Transmitter offers the following tracing modes (for the modes to be effective the Beha-Amprobe UAT-500-TE Transmitter must be used with a receiver):
- Induction mode: the transmitter wirelessly induces a 33kHz signal into a buried pipe, cable or wire. The frequency is detected and traced using a receiver.
- Direct Test Leads Connection mode: connect the transmitter to an accessible point on buried de-energised cables or utilities using test leads; induce a 33kHz transmitting frequency. Trace the signal using a receiver. (Do not connect the transmitter to an energised circuit).
- Clamp mode: for cables/ utilities without a safe access point, an optional signal clamp (sold separately) can be used with the transmitter to apply a signal, which is traced using a receiver.
It is possible to use the Beha-Amprobe UAT-500-TE Transmitter to locate non-metallic pipes as often these pipes include metal traces that will carry the signal. Alternatively, conductive tracing tape can be used to find non-metallic pipes.
The Beha-Amprobe UAT-500-TE Transmitter is a portable, durable, and dependable 33kHz frequency transmitter. It is ideal for field technicians and engineers working in construction or transportation and may also prove useful to pipefitters, plumbers, government inspectors, and surveyors.
