The Beha-Amprobe UAT-505-EUR Utility Ground Locator Kit is a portable underground utilities locator capable of detecting and measuring the depth of buried energised and deenergised wires, cables, and metal pipes. This kit, consisting of Beha-Amprobe’s UAT-600-R Receiver, UAT-500-TE Transmitter, test lead kit, batteries, and case, is ideal for wastewater engineers, pipefitters, plumbers, construction contractors, field engineers, government inspectors, civil engineers, and surveyors.
The Beha-Amprobe UAT-505-EUR Utility Ground Locator Kit can be used to find underground utilities, such as sewer lines, power lines, and water lines, that are buried at up to 100 feet deep (when used in Direct Test Leads Connection mode); it provides accurate depth measurements to 20 feet. The transmitter issues a 33kHz signal and can be used with the receiver in the following modes:
- Induction mode: wirelessly induce a signal into a buried pipe, cable or wire using the transmitter. Detect and trace the signal using the receiver.
- Direct Test Leads Connection mode: use the test lead kit to connect the transmitter to an accessible point on buried de-energised cables or utilities; send a signal across the wire or pipe. (Do not connect the transmitter to an energised circuit).
- Clamp mode: if there isn’t a safe access point, the transmitter can be used with an optional signal clamp (sold separately) to apply a signal to the cable/ utility. The signal is traced using the receiver.
Additionally, the Beha-Amprobe UAT-505-EUR Utility Ground Locator Kit can be used to trace non-metallic pipes in Induction or Direct Test Leads Connection mode as often these pipes have embedded metal trace which will conduct the signal. Alternatively, the Beha-Amprobe UAT-505-EUR Utility Ground Locator Kit can be used with conductive tracing tape to trace non-metallic pipes.
Depth measurements are indicated on the Beha-Amprobe UAT-600-R Receiver’s high-contrast display with an automatic backlight. The receiver has a fast sound and meter response and features a semi-automatic gain control for quick signal location and control. It also includes the following modes:
- Power mode: the receiver detects the electromagnetic fields of buried energised wires with a 50/60Hz frequency.
- Radio mode: the receiver detects radio waves that are carried in underground metal objects such as cables and pipes
The Beha-Amprobe UAT-505-EUR Utility Ground Locator Kit is a rugged, versatile, and precise portable underground utilities locator ideal for field technicians and engineers working in construction or transportation.
