Aim-TTi MX100Q Quadruple-Output DC Power Supply

The Aim-TTi MX100Q Quadruple-Output DC Power Supply is a compact, comprehensive, flexible PSU with four high-performance outputs of equal power. Please see the video below for a brief introduction to Aim-TTi’s MX Series of Multi-Output Power Supplies.

MX Series update: MX100Q

Outputs

All four of the Aim-TTi MX100Q Quadruple-Output DC Power Supply’s channels are independent and isolated with equal total power output (105W). Each one can support CI and CV operation, OVP/ OCP trips, high-resolution metering and switchable remote sensing, as well as multiple range combinations. Please see the table below for an overview of the ranges each of the Aim-TTi MX100Q Quadruple-Output DC Power Supply’s outputs is able to accommodate.

  Output 1 Output 2 Output 3 Output 4
Range 1 35V/3A 35V/3A 35V/3A 35V/3A
Range 2 16V/6A 16V/6A 70V/1.5A 70V/1.5A
Range 3 35V/6A* 35V/6A* 70V/3A* 70V/3A*
Note * = subject to another output being disabled (shared power mode)

Multiple range combinations equip the Aim-TTi MX100Q Quadruple-Output DC Power Supply with maximum flexibility. Additionally, range switching can provide 70V at 6A.

Furthermore, the Aim-TTi MX100Q Quadruple-Output DC Power Supply includes Shared Power mode which combines the outputs internally to provide total power of up to 210W (as 35V/6A or 70V/3A) via a single channel.

Mixed-Mode Regulation

The Aim-TTi MX100Q Quadruple-Output DC Power Supply’s impressive power density is in part facilitated by its mixed-mode regulation comprised of a high-frequency switch-mode pre-regulation with linear post-regulation. It allows the Aim-TTi MX100Q Quadruple-Output DC Power Supply to deliver performance close to that of an all-linear design and equips it with excellent line and load regulation, good transient response and low noise.

Voltage Tracking

As the Aim-TTi MX100Q Quadruple-Output DC Power Supply’s outputs are isolated and independent they are able to support voltage tracking: the voltage on one channel automatically tracks the voltage of another channel. As a result, the user can alter the voltage output of channels wired in series or parallel by adjusting the master output; he/she can also set equal voltages of the same or opposite polarity.

On/Off Synchronism and Sequencing

Each of the Aim-TTi MX100Q Quadruple-Output DC Power Supply’s outputs is activated or deactivated using an independent On/Off switch.

However, as some circuits can be damaged if only one voltage rail is present or if voltage rails are not applied in the correct sequence, the Aim-TTi MX100Q Quadruple-Output DC Power Supply includes Multi-On/ Multi-Off buttons. These buttons engage/ disengage all of the channels simultaneously (default), alternatively, they can be programmed to activate/ deactivate selected channels in a specified order.

Setting Stores and Multi-Output Linked Memories

To facilitate quick and easy setup, the Aim-TTi MX100Q Quadruple-Output DC Power Supply includes a fifty-point memory for saving settings pertaining to multiple-output combinations.

In addition to this, each of the Aim-TTi MX100Q Quadruple-Output DC Power Supply’s outputs includes a dedicated fifty setting store to which parameters such as range, OCP and OVP can be saved.

OVP and OCP Trips

All four of the Aim-TTi MX100Q Quadruple-Output DC Power Supply’s channels are able to accommodate over-voltage and over-current trips. When triggered, the trips will shut off the output and provide a different level of protection.

Current Meter Averaging

Further to this, the Aim-TTi MX100Q Quadruple-Output DC Power Supply’s outputs support current meter averaging. This function stabilises the PSU’s display when measuring rapidly changing loads: it indicates the average reading taken from several measurements thereby reducing the speed and degree of variation.

Individual Output Display

As standard, data for all four channels is indicated simultaneously on the Aim-TTi MX100Q Quadruple-Output DC Power Supply’s large, graphic display. However, the user can view and alter a particular output’s range, OVP, OCP, current meter averaging and fifty memory stores by engaging the Individual Display mode. He/she can also view data for the selected channel in larger digits when this mode is activated.

High Setting Resolution

Setting and altering the voltage and current parameters is easy using the illuminated keypad or control knob; the illuminated keypad also provides access to other features and functions. To ensure parameters are set accurately, the Aim-TTi MX100Q Quadruple-Output DC Power Supply includes a five-digit setting and metering display with a resolution of 1mV or 0.1mA.

Once parameters have been configured, the user can secure the Aim-TTi MX100Q Quadruple-Output DC Power Supply’s front panel using the Lock button to prevent accidental alteration. Alternatively, when integrating the Aim-TTi MX100Q Quadruple-Output DC Power Supply into a fixed system and/or to prevent accidental/ unauthorised alteration, the user can secure the front panel using a password of his/her choice.

Ergonomic

This PSU is intended for both benchtop and rack-mounted applications. To this end, it is housed in a compact, three-quarter rack width by 3U high case, and features front input ventilation which removes the need for additional space around the unit. The Aim-TTi MX100Q Quadruple-Output DC Power Supply also includes an intelligent fan controller for monitoring ambient temperature and power loading.

Applications

The Aim-TTi MX100Q Quadruple-Output DC Power Supply's compact design with four high-performing, equal power channels and extensive selection of features makes it ideal for the following applications:

  • Medium- to high-power benchtop applications requiring multiple channels
  • Applications with varying voltage and current requirements
  • Powering rail sensitive circuits
  • Repetitive testing applications
  • High-density system applications requiring multiple outputs from a limited rack space

The Aim-TTi MX100Q Quadruple-Output DC Power Supply is an ergonomic, easy-to-use, flexible PSU.
