Although he may have lost his signature beard in the process, Austin Daly of PASS recently managed to earn £719 for the British Heart Foundation.

British Heart Foundation Fundraiser

The sponsored beard shave came about as Austin began the build-up to his retirement and 65th birthday.

The beard of Austin is almost as famous as his signatures waistcoasts; he’s hardly ever seen without either. His beard sacrifice was performed with great ceremony by a local barber, who also took his razor to the beard of graphic designer Calum Findlay, laying down his facial whiskers for the cause as well.

Austin has been with PASS now for over six years, working as our training specialist. Over the years he’s trained countless amounts of people across the country in everything from PAT-testing to the finer points of electrical work.

The British Heart Foundation is close to Austin’s heart, and he was delighted with the result.

“I would like to thank everyone who sponsored, supported and donated to the British Heart Foundation. The response has been exceptional to this splendid cause; so a heartfelt thank you to you all.” he said.

A representative for the British Heart Foundation popped by to PASS last week to officially accept the money raised by the charity event.

PASS would like to extend our kindest regards to Austin and wish him a very happy retirement. Thank you so much for all the memories Austin, you will be sorely missed.
